Quba Mosque
One of Madinah’s most significant landmarks and the first mosque established in Islam, Quba Mosque is closely connected to the Prophet’s ﷺ migration to Madinah and remains a cherished place of worship and visitation.
Quba Mosque holds a special place in the history of Madinah. Recognized as the first mosque established in Islam, it is closely connected to the arrival of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ on the outskirts of Madinah during the Hijrah. The Prophet ﷺ took part in its establishment, making it one of the earliest landmarks of the Muslim community in the city.
The Prophet ﷺ would visit Quba Mosque and pray there, a practice that remains closely associated with the mosque today. Through centuries of expansion and care, the mosque and its surroundings have developed into an important part of the visitor experience in Madinah.

The Prophet ﷺ regularly visited Quba Mosque and prayed there. It is authentically reported that whoever purifies themselves at home, then comes to Quba Mosque and performs a prayer there, receives a reward like that of an Umrah.
Quba Mosque was established when the Prophet ﷺ arrived in the Quba area during the Hijrah to Madinah in 1 AH / 622 CE and is recognized as the first mosque established in Islam.
