A historic mosque between Quba and central Madinah, associated with the site where the Prophet ﷺ performed his first Friday prayer after the Hijrah, marking an important moment in the beginning of the Madinan era.
Al-Jumu'ah Mosque lies along the route between Quba and central Madinah and commemorates an important moment from the Prophet’s ﷺ Hijrah. After staying in Quba, the Prophet ﷺ continued towards the heart of Madinah. When the time for Friday prayer arrived in the area of Banu Salim ibn Awf, he led the Muslims in prayer there.
The location became associated with this event, and the mosque later established at the site became known as Al-Jumu'ah Mosque. Visiting it offers an opportunity to connect the events of the Prophetic biography with the actual landscape through which the Prophet ﷺ travelled from Quba into Madinah.
The mosque can easily be included in a wider Quba itinerary, particularly alongside Quba Mosque and Quba Avenue, giving visitors a better sense of the historic route connecting Quba with the heart of the city.
