Standing on Archers’ Hill and looking towards Mount Uhud brings the geography of one of the most significant events in the Prophetic biography into view. It was here that the archers were positioned by the Prophet ﷺ to protect the rear of the Muslim army during the Battle of Uhud in the third year after the Hijrah.

The Battle of Uhud took place in 3 AH / 625 CE. The Prophet ﷺ positioned fifty archers on the hill to protect the rear of the Muslim army.
